When chick and his mother visited Miss Thelma and her grand-children came to see her but couldn't see chick and his mom is seemed that my questions concerning if Chick mom actually came back to life were answered. Its seems like the author is implying that that Chick is in dream like state right now and is dreaming about his mother and it seems that in chicks dream, he is able to see what happened to him mom after he grew up, as well as being able to see that in the end people liked his mom and she left such a good impression on them that they are still thinking of her , even if they are about to die.

Yeah, this part of the book is bringing some of these questions closer to their answer. Although, I believe Chick is having a near death experience because he is mentioning that he remembers the one patient who his mother had who, in a way, had a near death experience with her family and friends. I think the people who are calling out to him are standing by him and legitimately saying wake up and I know you hear me. It is quiet interesting to see different near death experiences, like Chick's. I wonder how this book will end.

I agree; earlier, when Chick first started seeing these visions of his mother, I had chalked it up to be some kind of near-death vision of.. something. Now, I think that "something" is the life Chick would have lived if he hadn't dropped out of his family. He's seeing people have a relationship with his mother, something he didn't really focus on until she had died. He's seeing a grandparent, perhaps symbolic of his desire to be a part of his daughters life so one day that can be him with his grandkids. My prediction at this point, is that the duo will visit one final apparition who will be symbolic somehow of Chick's father, who was another major part of his early life that dropped out.
