As Michelle said that at first she did not believe this book would be something she would enjoy reading, the feeling was mutual. I did not like the idea of having a book chosen for me. I was also wrong on this part because when I heard the summary of this book, I knew immediately this is the book I wanted to read. Since page 1 of this book, I felt really drawn to the book and I wanted to read more. One of the many things I love about it so far is that the author and storyline gives you the chance to perceive what exactly is happening on your own. It is not specific on what exactly is going on, Chick seeing his mother, the multiple suicide attempts, etc. I like being able to use my imagination and create my own theories for what I believe is happening. It's interesting that for Chick, he has no idea what is going on. When he sees his mother for the first time since her death, it doesn't make any sense, he doesn't know what to feel or what to do next. It all seems so surreal and crazy but he knows this is one of the best things that could of happened because of what he is going through. He just wants to embrace the time he is able to spend with his mother, because he doesn't know when it will end, and also because this brought some light into his life again when it all seemed like darkness. I enjoy how For One More Day explores someone having new experiences with a lost loved one, which does not seem possible. This book so far has a fascinating and understandable storyline, Chick definitely is a very realistic protagonist, which in my opinion is a good quality to have in a book.
