Honestly, I wasn't too thrilled about this book choice at first, I had my eye on another book. However after reading much of the book already, I am pleasantly surprised! I love it! The book has a great hook to keep the reader intrigued, and wanting to read more! For One More Day definitely makes you think, and really allows you to take things into consideration. With Chick trying to commit suicide numerous times within the first 30 some pages of the book, it really opens your eyes, well for me at least. It's crazy how he comes to encounter his mother during this time, and I really can't wait to read more of this book! I cant wait to see what else it has to offer and the valuable life lessons that I am sure it will teach! Also cant wait to see what happens with Chick!
In addition, I personally think that its ridiculous that Chicks daughter did not invite him to her wedding. Yes, he probably wont ever win "Father of the year," but I know that no matter what ever happened with my parents, I would invite them both to my wedding. They're my parents! Now whether Chick would show up or not is on his part, but I think his daughter made a very foolish and selfish decision in not inviting her father to her wedding.

I agree with Michelle in that For One More Day can teach a person many important life lessons. This book about how you cannot judge people based on their actions alone because you do not know what they have been through. Chick has gone through many traumatizing events through his life. I think that his wife leaving him and not being apart of his kids life was very hard for him and the only way he could think of dealing with it was drinking. His daughter not inviting him to her wedding most likely pushed him over the edge and made him think that suicide was the answer. Reading about suicide makes you really think about what goes through a person's mind when they feel that they have nothing to live for anymore and decide to take their own life. I also felt extremely bad for Chick in the beginning of the book around his first suicide attempt. He had no one to talk to, his family had left him and if I were him I would have just wanted someone to be there for me and someone to tell how I was feeling and even give a second opinion.
